A documentarty about the life of the soldier in Bagdad in that war over there. An interesting show. I found myself wanting to learn something interesting, something new, something unexpected. Unfortunately, there was no such thing. It was certainly a fine documentary, well put together, telling a good story, it's just that I wanted a bit more out of the documentarty than it was willing to give. Perhaps there should be a rule that a documentary has to be at least as good as the story it's telling.

The best part was actually the Q&A afterwards. A couple soldiers from the movie who were getting near the end of their "tour of duty" came to see the movie with the director and were there. It really gave the documentary a special ring of authenticity to have one of the acutal soldiers from the movie there to say "yeah, that's what it's really like. It's not like you see it on CNN, it's like you just saw it now."
I don't know if it's good or bad that the best part was once the credits rolled, but I really wish more documentaries had things like that. Having those men there made it more than real, and much better than it was.
