When I signed up for this movie, I knew I'd be getting a psychological thriller, but I had no idea I was going for such a ride.
The story starts with our battered, bruised, and emaciated hero attempting to get rid of a body. Then we go back in time (you can tell where you are in the story just by how thin and damaged he is, it's really great) to where this thing with the body started.
First off, the acting, sound, story, and effects are fantastic. Everything in this movie is great. They even round-tripped the film (from 35 to digital back to 35) just so they could rip the colours out of the film and make the whole movie look more like how an insomniac would see it.
Before we even get into talking about the story itself, I was just awed at the effort and ability put into this movie. Wow.

There are a lot of stories going on in this movie. There's a lot of information in the background and in the reactions of people. If you want to, you can piece together what's going on on your own, the clues are all there. And what a fabulous story it is!
I'm trying hard not to ruin it for you, I hope you appreciate that.
The basics of the plot are kind of like this: By the end of the movie, he's a mess. He gets worse with time. At some point, he was fine. This is well evidenced by his co-workers who point out that he's changed, there's something wrong with him. Not only do we wonder what, exactly, is wrong with him that causes this strange behaviour, but there's also the question of why these strange things are going on, and what they're all about. Clues abound, even in the way the movie was put together.
All in all, a fantastic piece that shows style and craftsmanship, and that's before you even look at the excellent story being told. As a final note: Yay, theramin!
