Walter Salles' The Motorcycle Diaries is a story about the man who would become Che Guevara and his friend Alberto Granada's road trip through South America in 1952. That's the important point. This is not about Che, this is about the man that would become Che. On it's own merits, without political baggage, the film is a perfectly good buddy-road-movie. There are some goregous locations and good-to-trancendent cinematography. Highly recommended.
